The Debate that Will Never Happen

Senator McConnell admitted repeatedly (as did right-wing, ideologue, Justice Scalia, today) that he was too lazy and uninterested to read the Affordable Care Act so it's no wonder he can't speak honestly or intelligently about it. That's still no excuse. I offered to read it to Senator McConnell. My grandchildren offered to read it to him. I suggested he speak with Congressman Yarmuth, who could explain the entire thing to him in great detail. Senator McConnell wasn't interested. This country deserves better.

Senate Dems’ Answer to $4 Gas: a Bill That Does Nothing About it - U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell

More dishonesty from Senator McConnell, who pretends he doesn't know when to use the word Democratic. Why does anyone support this man, or his party, when they constantly insult the intelligence of anyone who follows them?

House GOP to take up health care law repeal, again

So, Senator McConnell, you got beat out by your own party? Didn't you say recently that you didn't want any more votes on repealing Obamacare? That you wanted to focus on the economy and gas prices? Does this mean you can't lead, or that you know there are no winning topics for your party?

The JOBS Act

I sent this letter to Senators McConnell and Paul

I strongly urge you to oppose the “JOBS Act,” which will encourage speculation and fraud, and to support the INVEST in America Act of 2012 sponsored by Sens. Reed, Landrieu and Levin. The JOBS Act will destroy jobs by reducing investor confidence in small companies. The Reed-Landrieu-Levin amendments to the JOBS Act will lessen the harm the JOBS Act does to investors, pension funds and the U.S. economy.

I also ask your party to stop using deceptive names on bills. Trying to fool the public is not acceptable. Own what you are and see how many votes you get with honesty.

(Will post their responses when they arrive.)

Mitch McConnell Votes Against Highway Bill He Said He’d Work To Pass

Mitch McConnell Votes Against Highway Bill He Said He’d Work To Pass: pIn early March, the Laborers’ International Union of America launched a radio and mail ad campaign aimed at prodding Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) to pass the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act, a highway and transportation bill. Their ads, focused on Kentucky [...]/p

(Glad to see that Senator McConnell has already launched his campaign for 2014. I'll beef up on campaigning against him. Please help.)

McConnell: I’m Filibustering Seventeen Judges Because Reid Made Republicans ‘Look Bad’

McConnell: I’m Filibustering Seventeen Judges Because Reid Made Republicans ‘Look Bad’: In an exchange that seems designed to prove why fewer Americans approve of Congress than approve of communism or the BP oil spill, Senate Leaders Harry Reid (D-NV) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY) engaged in a long debate this morning over why Reid is currently trying to break seventeen filibusters of President Obama’s judicial nominees. The [...]/p

Once again, Senator McConnell proves that his only goal is to obstruct and waste time. He is unfit for office.

The Face of the Republican Party

Dear Senators McConnell and Paul:

A week ago, I thought a row of misspelled words followed by a dozen or so exclamation points painted a clear picture of the average Republican voter. Thanks to YouTube, I now have a talking picture (video imbedded on blog, link attached by mail). As a party leader, Senator McConnell, I wonder if you consider how this level of ignorance in your base reflects on you. I will tell you what this says to me about you.

After watching this video, remembering your education townhall, Senator Paul, and considering what I read in Katherine Stewart's book: The Good News Club: The Christian Right's Stealth Assault on America's Children, it is quite obvious that your party preys on ignorant voters because you know you could never be in office without them. You waste air time making ridiculous, untrue statements about President Obama, Senator McConnell, and about “liberty” and “education”, Senator Paul, when you could spend that time educating your base instead.

Since I don't claim to be Christian, I can make judgements about others without being a hypocrite like you and your supporters who think you can judge President Obama based on lies, but can still tell the rest of us that we aren't supposed to judge others. By my standards, morals, ethics, beliefs, or whatever you would like to call them, the worst sin/crime/mistake you can make is to steal truth or intelligence from another. You do this, daily, and want to gut education to ensure generations of ignorant people who will vote against their own best interests in order to line your pockets and feed your egos. There is no excuse for what you do.

I hope you will watch this video and tell me that you would like to live among these people, that you are proud of yourselves for attracting these people to your cause, that you feel good about knowing that you have used religion and lies to turn them into who they are today, and that you are comfortable knowing that you forgo every opportunity you have to educate them. I want you to tell me that it is worth the money, and that your children are proud of their fathers for the roles you play in destroying minds and lives.

If I were your daughter, I would change my name and hope no one ever discovered my true identity.

Sincerely,

Sandy
