Appeal to Mitch McConnell re: 14th Amendment via Executive Order

Senator McConnell,
I remember a immigration bill that passed the Senate 68-32 in 2013. It was a good bill that addressed the real issue with immigration--making it difficult for employers to hire people who are here illegally. It also had a guest worker program for areas of need. You opposed that plan because of some silly nonsense about the border security.
I also recall that it went nowhere in the House because feckless Speaker Boehner refused to bring the measure to the floor because of the Hastert rule. The 2013 cowardice by you and Boehner has left us with a narcissistic wannabe autocrat in the White House who who wants to shred the 14th Amendment via Executive order. Please find your voice and restore a bit of your honor and give this President the advice he needs. You owe your KY constituents that much at least.

The Kaleidoscope Known as McConnell

McConnell:
Hopefully, this will be the last letter before I get to write the good-bye letter to you. With only a few days until the election, your ridiculous ads and the dirty-money ads your allies are running on your behalf are flooding the television, radio, internet, and mailboxes with such desperation that the only thing most of us want to do is sit in a silent room. Guess that's what you are hoping we will do, huh? Glad to disappoint you on that one.

I thought the stink bugs had invaded my place this week but it turns out it was the desperation of your ads smelling up the entire state. The fake women for McConnell television commercial made me giggle a bit, despite the ridiculousness of you thinking we are stupid enough to believe that even a few, vibrant, bright-eyed, snow-white, Kentucky gals would support you. Alas, one of the four is registered in another state and can't vote for you. Seriously, you really couldn't find four young Kentucky females who either needed the money or wanted the attention enough to take the job? That's amazing.

And, just what did you hope to accomplish with that ad? Could it possibly be exactly what one of them is trying to project onto Secretary of State Grimes? Come on, you can be honest with me just one time. Weren't you really hoping that some young, white girls, would listen to those girls who look just like them? You included a blonde, a red head, a brunette, and a platinum (wow, Team Mitch is all over that platinum fad – good job) by design, didn't you? Really, just once is all I ask. Honesty. Please.

It gets uglier after that. The ad in which you call Secretary of State Grimes (notice how easy it is to use titles, like Secretary of State and President) a hypocrite for providing legal representation for family members who pay their restaurant employees the going (legal) rate for tipped employees is – well, hypocritical. I don't mind sounding like a broken record so here goes: Always, 100% of the time, without fail, more dependable than February coming after January, everysinglesolitary time, when you and your allies falsely accuse someone else of doing something, that means you are absolutely, without doubt, positively, for sure doing it yourselves*. That's the only thing we can depend on you to do.

Must surely have crushed your soul – oops. Silly, silly me. You have no soul. You have no conscience. It must have pissed you off beyond measure that the story about all those drugs being found on the ship connected to your family came out at the same time. Hypocrite would be a compliment compared to what you are.

But, it gets even worse. The television is flashing a kaleidoscope of unbelievable (seriously, unbelievable to any sane person) ads of you smiling and shaking hands with people who are not white, appearing to mingle through your hand-selected mini-crowds of paid enthusiasts, muddling your way on that Hugh Jass bus that your dirty-money allies provided for you through parts of Kentucky that you probably didn't even know existed before whoever was holding your arm to hide (or should that be highlight) the fact that you are a feeble fossil whispered the name of the county to you…
And while we suffer that kaleidoscope of disgust, THIS IS HAPPENING. You, Senator McConnell, may have committed two felonies with illegal* voter intimidation tactics. That tells me that you are a disgrace to Kentucky and to the United States. The only thing more disgraceful than you would be the person who votes for you. It also tells me that you are desperate, and I enjoy every second of thinking that you are feeling like a loser. And, finally, it tells me that you are just as dishonest as the rest of the Republican Party. I guess that makes sense, since you are their supposed leader.

Feeling lighter,

Sandy

(if I spot any errors, I will probably not correct them since this ended on 666 words and that feels appropriate)

Dear Readers:
I think it might be a great time to blow up the White House phone lines with calls to investigate Senator McConnell's Party's illegal voting tactics. Today, tomorrow, and Monday. (212) 456-1414 and/or email here http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/submit-questions-and-comments

What is your career, Senator McConnell?

Dear Senator McConnell:

Now that  you and your allies/team/abetters/partners-in-lies have made so many public comments about your utter disgust for career politicians, I think it's time for you to explain to us (your constituents, as well as other sane Americans who suffer the consequences of your lies and inaction) exactly what you consider to be your career. You've spent thirty years in the senate but consider something other than politics the career of your life? Please explain.

Sandy

McConnell Madness Brackets Ready

Recently, over in the Facebook Group, No More Life With Mitch McConnell (name reflects anticipated retiring of this blog along with the Senator in 2014), I posted this:

BE ON THE WATCH: I realized today, when I saw Mitch's FB post, that the odds are against him. Any day now, he is bound to slip up and accidentally tell a truth.

So far, that hasn’t happened. In the spirit of March Madness, I created a bracket competition with the accidental truths I would most like to hear Senator McConnell drop. I invite everyone to participate and share with others.

There will be no cash prize but we are all winners if someone replaces his botox injections with truth serum, or he suddenly develops a conscience at this late age. And, to all who predict the winner, I will be forever in awe of your awesomeness.

Should anyone feel cheated because there is no money involved, you are welcome to make a donation to the NOT MITCH fund:

Make checks payable to: Jefferson County Democratic Party

Be sure to add this to the FOR line: Against Mitch McConnell

Mail to:

Let the fun begin!

Next Up: Getting Rid of Mitch McConnell

I started this campaign the day after Mitch McConnell barely won his last race. Now that we have the 2012 election behind us, we can focus our attention on this important goal.

I was prepared to beg George Clooney to come home and run against Mitch in 2016. And then, I met someone else who I thought could easily beat Senator McConnell. This man is intelligent, one of the most dynamic speakers I’ve ever heard, and so charismatic that everyone who meets him falls instantly in love with him. But he didn’t think it was the right time for him. Now, there’s talk of Ashley Judd running and that puts a smile on my face.

There is also talk of the Republican Party trying to run McConnell out. His sudden cozying up to people who self-identify as Tea Party adds credibility to that rumor and makes me wonder if they will primary him.

No matter who runs against Mitch McConnell, they will be better for my state, this country, and the world than Mitch McConnell. We sane Kentuckians are going to need all the help we can get because the Republican Party will pump this race full of dirty money, and McConnell’s name recognition goes a long way with lazy voters who don’t bother or are unable to research and see the damage he has done. (Ashley might help in this regard.)

I created a Facebook Group dedicated to keeping people informed about McConnell’s actions (or inactions, as is mostly the case) between now and election 2016, and to motivate people who are interested in campaigning against him. If interested, you can join here.  Just remember, this is a totally biased group with a specific purpose. Anyone who supports Mitch McConnell, harasses those who are working to unseat him, or posts articles or links that are not related to the ugliness of Mitch McConnell will be removed and blocked.

Hope to see you there.

Numbers Say It All, Senator McConnell

Dear Senator McConnell:

Still want to pretend you speak for THE American People?
